Off work? New Year’s Resolution? Improve your chess skills!
If you’re off work for a few weeks recovering from a hip replacement, knee replacement, broken leg or some other ailment (whether or not you are on crutches) you’re going to tire of Jeremy Kyle pretty quickly and you’ll get through those box sets of Game Of Thrones super fast.
Or perhaps you’ve made a New Year’s resolution to take up a new hobby.
Either way, how about improving your chess skills? We’ve found a great app by the world champion himself – Magnus Carlsen.
It’s called Play Magnus. The idea is that you play against a computer version of Magnus and instead of selecting a difficulty level you choose the age he is when you play him. If you struggle to win, don’t be disheartened – Magnus was a chess Grandmaster at the age of 13! We have a chess prodigy in the office here who can beat Magnus aged 10 which we think is good going.
You can find the game here Play Magnus. Happy castling!
